My guns life spans are measured in rounds fired, not years preserved to brag the next generation is still not going to shoot it. A Glock frame after 200,000 rounds is perfectly serviceable for much more than that. A metal frame gun will be stressed, worn and out of spec by then, if it lasts that long.
Similarly, can a gun last forever? With proper maintenance and good storage conditions, a gun can last a couple of hundred years easy. There are plenty of antique muskets still in operating condition, and guns from WWI work as well today as they ever did. Bullets, being essentially chunks of lead and copper, will last forever if stored in a dry place.
